Zayla Partners, a Gallagher Company purchased Effective Compensation, Inc. (known as ECI Surveys to the energy industry) in January of 2024. Zayla continued the ECI legacy, maintaining strictly controlled data to maximize quality and relevance for the energy industry with 63 participants in 2024 despite jumps in energy acquisitions. We look forward to expanding our offerings in 2025.
Founded in 1996, Effective Compensation, Inc. (ECI) has been conducting compensation surveys for the energy industry for 29 years. The Oil and Gas E&P Compensation Survey has been honed and developed over those years into the gold standard of quality compensation data and analytics. Beginning in 2025, ECI will be bringing the same standard of excellence to the reinstatement of the Midstream, Oilfield Services and Alternative Energy segments.

Credentials for each survey will be sent to participants prior to the survey opening date.
Target demographic: Companies engaged in exploration and production activities on owned assets in the US.

Target demographic: Companies engaged in processing, storing, transporting and marketing oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. Must have US operations and employees.

Target demographic: Companies operating in the US in the alternative energy space including solar energy production, energy storage, wind energy production and more.

Mr. Brown is a statistician and data scientist with experience in analyzing data and reporting trends for corporate financial performance.
Ian Keas – Managing Partner
Mr. Keas has spent the last 15 years as a consultant and practice leader for 2 leading executive compensation and corporate governance firms. He has served as the lead advisor to many large, privately held organizations, leading public companies, and nonprofit companies on executive compensation, non-executive compensation, board of director compensation, and corporate governance programs. He has served as an author, feature commentator, and public speaker on a variety of compensation matters.
Terry Isselhardt, SPHR – Special Advisor
Ms. Isselhardt has over forty years assisting firms in compensation, benefits and human resource issues both domestically and internationally. She brings a business management perspective in helping clients develop appropriate compensation strategies. Ms. Isselhardt has owned and operated ECI since January 2001. Her professional experience includes officer and management human resource positions at Martin Segal, Dresser Industries, Gardner-Denver/Cooper Industries, Reading & Bates, Leprino Foods and Golden Bear Golf. She also has experience with pre-IPO startups, mergers and acquisitions. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, SHRM, and World at Work.
